NEW WEBINAR: Housing Stability Support, Occupational Therapy in Homeless Services

Learn about occupational therapy life-skill building and the benefits to housing stability for people experiencing homelessness, with a specialized focus on the LGBTQ community. Hear about the LGBTQ experience within homeless services in Cleveland and about queer specific skill needs within the community. Participants will learn about current occupational therapy services embedded into Los Angeles homeless systems along with the potential benefit within Cleveland.
Topics will include a basic understanding of LGBTQ lived experience of homelessness. Participants will also learn the basics of occupational therapy from referral to discharge along with existing practices in Los Angeles including physical health, mental health, and skill building. Participants will hear the existing needs of the LGBTQ community in Cleveland to showcase the benefits of embedding occupational therapy into Cleveland homeless and housing services for improved housing stability.
This webinar will showcase best practices for occupational therapists working with the unhoused population. Participants will see areas of intervention by occupational therapists and the specific ways these can be provided by many organizations within Cleveland. While we will focus on Cuyahoga County, the bulk of information presented in this webinar will be applicable in any community.
