A Message from NEOCH Following the 2024 Presidential Election 

As the results of the 2024 presidential election have been finalized, we at NEOCH recognize the range of emotions this may bring for those of us committed to a more just and equitable world. To our community members—especially those who are feeling particularly vulnerable during this time—we see you, and we’re here to support you. While our work may face new challenges, our mission remains the same, and our resolve to eliminate the root causes of homelessness is as strong as ever. 

This is a crucial moment for us to come together, not only as an organization but as a community. Many may be feeling fear, frustration, or uncertainty, particularly those whose lives are directly impacted by policies that affect the most marginalized among us. NEOCH remains committed to its work, and we will continue advocating for the dignity and safety of unhoused individuals and the work to eliminate all forms of oppression and discrimination that are at the root of homelessness.   

Now more than ever, we encourage everyone in our community to support one another, stay engaged locally, and use their voices to advocate for positive change. NEOCH will continue to lead the work to advance policies that affirm human rights and promote access to safe and inclusive housing. Together, we can continue building a foundation of resilience and hope for a better future. 

In the spirit of unity and respect, NEOCH will pause its social media activity to allow space for collective reflection following the election. We urge all to approach the days ahead with compassion and understanding, fostering conversations that bring us together rather than divide. Let us use this time to focus on empathy, kindness, and the pursuit of common ground.
