Mayoral Candidates Justin Bibb & Kevin Kelley: Protect Cleveland Renters on Day 1
Join us in asking Mayoral Candidates Justin Bibb & Kevin Kelley to implement deeply researched, community-informed, and little-to-no-cost renter protections that are ready to be introduced on their FIRST DAY IN OFFICE.
Access to safe, healthy, affordable housing is a right of every Clevelander. In our city, renters make up 60% of households and the lives of Cleveland renters will be directly impacted by the next Mayor. In partnership with the Fair Housing Center for Rights & Research, Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry, Enterprise Community Partners, Neighborhood Connections, and Cleveland housing advocates, we are asking the next Mayor to implement the following on their first day in office:
Immediately pass Source of Income Protection Legislation: Cleveland renters deserve access to affordable housing
Immediately pass Pay to Stay Legislation: Cleveland renters deserve not be unfairly evicted
Develop Comprehensive Renter Protections: Cleveland renters deserve a Bill of Rights to address discrimination, prevent eviction, and improve quality and long-term affordability
