THE CDC EVICTION MORATORIUM HAS ENDED:
On Thursday, August 26th, the CDC eviction moratorium was struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court. IF SOMEONE IS EXPERIENCING A HOMELESSNESS CRISIS, CALL COORDINATED INTAKE:
Coordinated intake and assessment have stopped in-person assessments to access shelter. All intakes will be taken by phone. Call (216) 674-6700 if you are homeless and have no place to go. Coordinated intake is available by phone from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday and can be accessed by calling 211 First Call For Help after hours and on weekends.

Contact 211, either by phone or chat at www.211oh.org to find out if a service is closed or for updates on any changes. 211 is also part of Cuyahoga County’s Emergency Operations Center and can share important information regarding COVID-19. Organizations that have updates to their information with 211 can email them to 211updates@unitedwaycleveland.org.

TRANSPORTATION:
All
RTA routes are operating normally, but check here for details on any new changes. As of November 25, 2020, GCRTA's Main Office Building will be closed to the public beginning at 5:00 pm. Entry to the building will be for only employees and those who have appointments scheduled. The closure will continue until further notice. Additionally, the ADA Registration office will also be closed. Instructions for new or renewal ID's will be found at the Paratransit webpage, Senior riding page or Fixed Route Disability riding page.

PORTABLE TOILETS:
Several portable toilets have been placed around the city, including Bishop Cosgrove Center, South Marginal Road muni lots, West Side Catholic Center, St. Malachi, W. 38th & Bridge, St. Paul’s, the McCafferty Health Center, and on Swift Ave.

St. Herman’s House of Hospitality:

No breakfast
Lunch: 11:30am to 12:00pm – Bagged lunches and bottled water served outside at the side entry door.
Dinner: 5:30pm to 6:00pm – Bagged dinner and bottled water served outside at the side entry door.
Showers: Every other Friday, 1pm - 3pm.
Groceries: Last 5 weekdays of the month for households with children and dependents, 2pm - 3pm.
Cooler cleanout: Free produce and other food items, Thursdays 8:30am - 10am.
Bathrooms are accessible 24/7 outside and clothing is available for men only, Monday and Friday, 1pm - 2pm. Hygiene items, sandwiches, and winter gear distributed daily from 12pm-12:30pm and from 6pm - 6:30pm, depending on availability.

Bishop Cosgrove Center:

Breakfast: Monday - Friday from 8am - 9am. To-go containers only.
Lunch: Monday - Friday from 12pm - 1:30pm. To-go containers only.
Showers: M-F 9:30am - 11:30am.
Food pantry is offering to-go bags and people may call 216-781-8262 with any questions.

St. Augustine’s Hunger Center:

Lunch and dinner pick up are available Wednesday-Sunday between the times of 10:30am - 12:30pm.

St. Patrick’s Hunger Center:  
W. 38th and Bridge Ave

The food pantry is open on Wednesdays from 9:30am to 12:00pm. No zip code restrictions. Masks required.
The hot meal program is grab and go on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00pm - 6:00pm. Masks required. Meal per person must be present.

Catholic Worker Drop-In Center:

Showers and bathroom only. Bagged lunches are available, as well as an outlet for phone charging.

St. Paul’s Community Church:
W. 45th and Franklin Blvd, Cleveland, OH

Food Pantry: Open Tuesday-Friday from 10am-11:30am, 44102, 44109, 44113 zip codes only. Last Sunday of the month meal will be replaced with bagged meals. The Outreach Center is open Tuesday-Friday from 9:00am - 12:00pm, providing free health screenings as well as restrooms for use (not including showers). Please call first regarding Ohio ID and birth certificate vouchers at (216) 651-6250.

Project Save:
2386 Unwin Rd, Cleveland, OH

Open on Tuesdays from 8:30am to 2:00pm and Wednesday-Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm, Project Save offers numerous services such as job, housing, and drug treatment referrals, healthcare information, computer classes, free furniture, and ID vouchers. Hot meals are available every Wednesday from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Project Save operates out of the Friendly Inn located at 2386 Unwin Rd, Cleveland, OH (near East 55th off Quincy). The Haven at Denison UCC:
W. 99th and Denison Ave, Cleveland, OH
Open for coffee, lunch (hot and to go), showers, hygiene products, food pantry, (mainly non-perishable) and clothing Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Masks are required. The monthly food pantry is the 4th Tuesday of the month from 10:30am to 12:00pm and includes meat and fresh produce. No zip code restrictions. Masks are required. Shelter at Denison UCC has a maximum of 18 cots for men and women over 18. It is open from 6:30pm to 7:30am and offers a hot dinner and breakfast, and showers at least 4 nights per week. Gym and movie night are available on Saturday and Sunday.

May Dugan Center:
4115 Bridge Ave, Cleveland, OH
The May Dugan Center is located at 4115 Bridge Ave and they are open to the public for walk-ins, Monday-Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm. May Dugan offers comprehensive services and programs to individuals and families throughout the Cleveland area, including: food, clothing, behavioral health counseling, adult education services, job searches, victim services, trauma counseling and more. St. Malachi:

Back door ministry is open Monday through Friday from 10am - 1pm for hot meals or bagged lunches, and Saturday from 9am - 12pm for breakfast and a bagged lunch. Monday night meals have returned and are available from 5pm - 7pm.

Malachi Center:
2416 Superior Viaduct, Cleveland, OH

The shower program continues to operate Monday - Friday, 7am - 9am for both men and women, with clothing and hygiene items available for those who need it. Vouchers for IDs and Birth Certificates are available to clients who need identification for housing appointments, and those interested must bring either a Social Security card or some other official document that shows their Social Security number. Case management and navigation assistance is also provided.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church:
W. 78th and Lake Ave, Cleveland, OH

Grab-n-go meals distributed every Wednesday from 5:00pm-6:00pm along with free pickups of emergency clothing items such as coats, hats, gloves, underwear, and socks. Requests for specific articles of clothing may be submitted by sending an email to clothing.stluke.cleveland@gmail.com or by visiting during office hours, Monday-Wednesday from 10:00am-3:00pm. A Drive-Thru Mobile Pantry offering fresh produce is available on the second and fourth Mondays of each month from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

University Settlement:

The Hunger Center remains open Monday through Friday, 11:30am – 2:00pm. A weekly community meal is available Tuesdays from 6:00pm - 7:00pm as grab-n-go.

OTHER SERVICES

RE-ENTRY:
The North Star Neighborhood Reentry Resource Center hours of operation are Monday & Wednesday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and 9 a.m. – 1 p.m on select Saturdays. North Star will continue to provide basic services such as ID and Birth Certificate vouchers, client computer lab, and referrals to community partners, as well as key programming such as Anger Management, Parenting, Child Support Navigation, Life Skills, etc.

LEGAL SERVICES:
Legal Aid’s online in-take is available 24/7 and phone intake is available at select hours through a variety of languages. Their Tenant and Worker Information Lines are available for renters and workers in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lorain, and Lake counties. Also, see their COVID web page for information on consumer protection, unemployment benefits, worker rights, education, and immigration.

OPIOID OVERDOSE RESOURCE:
The Cuyahoga County Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided with Naloxone) is trying to reach individuals who use opioids or individuals who know someone who uses opioids and is at risk of opioid overdose, especially during COVID-19.

A Place 4 Me (Youth):
A Place 4 Me is doing everything possible to continue providing the same level of services to young people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. They have established processes to continue providing bus passes, flexible financial assistance, emergency food, etc. to youth in need via YWCA’s front desk and by mail. Public Libraries:
Cleveland Public Libraries have resumed the operation of their Grab & Go meal program for children under 18. Please contact your local branch for more details, as hours may vary depending on location. The Children’s Hunger Alliance is continuing to provide meals at recreation centers and people may call 211 for site locations.

*ID Assistance:
The Bureau of Vital Statistics would prefer that people send their voucher in the mail (601 Lakeside Ave, Cleveland, OH 44114) or email questions to vitalstat@odh.ohio.gov. If necessary, a drop box for Birth and Death certificate applications is available at the City Hall security desk on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00am - 1:00pm.

*Update from the Identification Crisis Collaborative:
The Identification Crisis Collaborative, at 34 sites in Cuyahoga County, can help adults residing in Cuyahoga County who have low income in obtaining their Birth Certificate, State ID, renewal or replacement Driver’s License, or renewal or replacement CDL. Services are also available for families who need assistance with applying for rental, housing, or utility assistance, enrolling children in Kindergarten, or for teens to get a work permit or apply for FAFSA. To find a location near you, call United Way’s First Call For Help by dialing 211 and ask for help getting the identification documents and/or ID you need at an Identification Crisis Collaborative site. Please request the site’s phone number from 211 and then call them directly to schedule an appointment.

Benefits.Ohio.Gov:
One-stop application for SNAP benefits, Medicaid, and childcare. Ohio JFS announced 4/7/20 that some Ohio SNAP recipients will be automatically receiving additional SNAP benefits for the months of March and April. Federal COVID-19 legislation allows all Ohioans in the SNAP program to receive the maximum benefit amount for their household. Please call (866) 386-3071 to check the balance.

Medicaid Application Verification:
Cuyahoga Job and Family Services (CJFS) will continue to verify eligibility requirements. A drop off box is still available at following locations:  VEB-1641 Payne, Southgate at Jane Edna Hunter-3955 Euclid, Quincy- 8111 Quincy, Old Brooklyn-4261 Fulton Parkway, and Westshore-9830 Lorain Ave.

Prevention, Retention, and Contingency (PRC) Program Emergency Assistance:
Emergency assistance is available for families affected by COVID-19. This includes Cuyahoga County residents in a family assistance group that includes a minor child, or a pregnant individual, or a non-custodial parent of a minor child receiving Ohio Works First (OWF), SNAP, and/or Medicaid. The Cleveland Clinic, UH and Metro have nurses on call. This may be your best option at a campsite as any phone can be used to access nurse on call services.

When conducting outreach services:

  • Wash hands before and after contact and use hand sanitizer when possible

  • If someone is coughing have them wear a mask

  • You should also wear a mask around anybody with respiratory symptoms and /or fever

  • Educate on hand washing/hygiene and provide supplies

  • Do not transport suspected cases in your car
