2018 Annual report - We are strong. We will continue to work to end homelessness
On March 21st, 2019, NEOCH hosted our 2019 annual meeting entitled, Reclaim and Recommit, Protect Fair Housing and End Homelessness - Housing is a Human Right!
One hundred people came to support our work, celebrate our successes, and dream a world of justice and without homelessness. We centered the voices of those experiencing homelessness in our work. If we are going to end homelessness, people with lived experience or are currently living it are going to have to lead the way.
We also called on the community to name structural and institutional racism as being a “major cause of homelessness in our community. We know that poverty rates alone do not explain the over representation of people of color in the homeless system.
We are thankful for all the people that showed up. Your voice is important, and your membership makes us strong. Thanks to you, we will continue advocating, educating, and outreaching to those experiencing homelessness in our community.
At the meeting, We released our 2018 Annual Report. Please look if you have not yet seen it. The report highlights our work, demonstrates the facts of homelessness in our community, discusses our financial health, and thanks our supporters
